In an effort to serve you better, we will be launching a new customer portal, called Jonas Client Gateway, in early June.
Please note that your current login to www.jonassuport.com will be disabled once we go live with Jonas Client Gateway. We will be migrating all existing users over to the new portal, however each user will have to login with an updated username and password combination. We will be providing full details with updated login instructions as well as introductory webinars on how to use the portal in the next couple of weeks, so please keep an eye out for these important notices.
Below are just a few of the benefits we plan to offer as part of the new and improved Jonas Client Gateway:
- Log support cases quickly and easily 24x7
- View cases for your company, including comments and support history
- View quotes
- Get notified by email when development items for your company are completed
- Download Product and Version Updates (new) directly from the portal. No more having to wait for CD’s to arrive in the mail. (Note: CD's will still be available for those clients who prefer this option.)
We plan to continuously improve our support offering to you, and will welcome any feedback you may have. Should you have any questions or concerns about the changes to your existing www.jonasssupport.com login, please contact Sanjiv Kalevar at sanjiv.kalevar@jonassoftware.com.

May HST Update For Ontario and British Columbia
Effective July 1, 2010, HST(Harmonized Sales Tax) will be applicable to all transactions in Ontario and British Columbia. The Jonas product update of June 30, 2010 will automatically change your company’s default tax setting to HST from the previous GST/PST setup. If you do this product update and are not ready to turn on the new HST tax setting, you should go to Administration> Change BC/Ontario Tax and select GST/PST before entering any transactions.
If you are a client who is located in Ontario or British Columbia, you may want to consider not taking any product updates from the end of June onwards until you are ready to have HST turned on.
Please note that you must upgrade your Jonas software to version 11.9 or higher by May 1, 2010 to properly implement the modifications for HST.
If you have not already done so, and cannot locate your v 11.9 CD, please contact our Support Team for a replacement at your earliest convenience.

As of July 1st, 2010, Arizona has revised how it calculates State Withholding Tax from being a % of Federal Tax to being a % of gross taxable wages. "Gross taxable wages" is the amount that meets the federal definition of "wages" contained in IRC § 3401 and that will be included in box 1 of the employee's federal Form W-2 at the end of the calendar year (i.e. gross wages net of pretax deductions, such as the employee's portion of health insurance premiums).
As a result, before processing your first pay ending date in July you will need to update each employee’s % under their Tax screen in Maintain Employee Records. In addition you will need to do a product update to get the revised calculation.
The revised calculation is now available on the Jonas Support Website and is date sensitive so that it will only impact pay periods with pay-ending dates of July 01 or later. Please login prior to July 1st and navigate to Support->Product Updates in order to perform the product update. If you do not wish to perform a full product update, the Jan 2010 Payroll Only Update option also contains the July payroll changes for Arizona.
For more details on this change you can go-to http://www.azdor.gov/Business/WithholdingTax.aspx.
If you have any questions, please call client support at 1-800-352-6647, or email support@jonassoftware.com.

Q. What happens after we have used the highest audit trail number?
A. The system will automatically restart from audit number 0001. If you are using Electronic Archiving, the original audit trail, e.g. PJ0001 will be stored as PJ000100 and the new one will stored as PJ000101. You may also notice that PJ audit numbers jump from 8999 to 0001. Note that the 9000 series of audit trails is reserved for GJ's only.
Q. Why, in A/R J/C invoicing if you start the invoice line with a “Q” as in “Quoted material and labour”, it never prints the letter “Q” at the beginning of the line?
A. A "Q" at this position in the billing line is reserved as a code to force a quantity of 1 to print.
If this position doesn't have the "Q" and the quantity is 1, it will not print the quantity. This was requested by clients.
In order to print a “Q” in the description, you must either type “QQuote...” or “spaceQuote....”. To print a quantity of 1 you would have to type “QQuote….”
Using Design Your Own Forms
Some of the latest forms we’ve added to DYOF are the 4 Change Order Forms:
Clients can design them individually in DYOF – using the template creator (no need to do all 4 of them)

However, if a client starts using them, then the rest of the forms that need to be set-up in the CO profile have to be GUI forms (not text forms), in order to avoid any printing issues.
After creating the DYOF templates, they have to be set up in both:
- System Admin> DYOF and in the CO system profile> under the “Multi-Comp” button (not in the main screen).

- Job costing> Change order Mgmt> System profile/terminology under the Multi-comp button (as it allows here the set-up by company)

Also under Manage Quote requests> “Dates/Forms button” ensure that the forms selected here (if any) are also DYOF forms. Otherwise the forms set-up here will try to overwrite the forms in the CO system profile, and the client will get an error while printing.
